How to Prepare for Your Cleanse…🪷

Embarking on a cleanse can be a transformative journey for your body and your mind, so its good to go into the cleansing space calm and collected to prepare for an easeful journey. It's not just about the days of the cleanse itself, but how you prepare for it that sets the tone for your experience. With the right preparation, you can create a smoother, even more effective, and enjoyable cleansing process. Let's dive into some helpful basic ways to gear up for your cleanse experience.

Start with gentle dietary adjustments, this will be the most simple and beneficial action you can take. About a week before your cleanse, begin by tuning into your diet and finding your own needed adjustments. This is the perfect opportunity to start reducing the intake of processed foods, refined sugars, caffeine, alcohol and general over indulgence. In this time start to shift your focus to whole, unprocessed and truly nourishing foods. Think local and organic fruits, vegetables, clean meats, eggs and whole grains. These foods are not only nutritious but also lighter on your digestive system. Smaller, more frequent meals can also be a helpful change, helping your body get used to a reduced food intake opposed to 3 large meals a day. This gradual shift in daily eating will help your body acclimate to the upcoming cleanse, making the transition smoother and more comfortable to just consuming the cleanse shakes, broth, tea, and coconut water.

Of course trying to have and maintain a healthy gut is reason for the cleanse in the first place, but you can start to create the foundations of a healthy gut ecosystem before the cleanse. Start incorporating probiotic-rich foods and even supplements with pre and probiotics, this can enhance your gut flora, aiding digestion and boosting your immune system. Its helpful to aid the goal you’re aiming for post cleanse in your cleanse prep!

As always hydration is Key, but water is your best friend when preparing for a cleanse and during. Staying well-hydrated helps maintain a clean and well oiled system while also starting to flush toxins from your body and keeping your cells happy. For an added detoxifying boost, try infusing your water with lemon, while on the cleanse you cannot do this. Herbal teas are another excellent choice to gently start a pre cleansing experience, with options like dandelion or ginger tea offering gentle detoxification benefits. You can also chose to go deeper with pre detoxification practices to further deepen the cleanse. You can consider more direct methods like an enema or colonic to pre flush out the system. Also consider using a sauna or steam bath to encourage sweating, another effective way to eliminate toxins. Your skin is your largest organ and plays a key role in detoxification. Techniques like dry brushing stimulate lymphatic drainage and circulation, aiding your body's natural detox processes. These are all great precursors to the cleanse to enhance your cleanse journey.

Stress management is very crucial in preparing for a cleanse and often forgotten. Embrace mindful practices with activities like yoga, meditation, or simple stretching exercises, these can significantly reduce stress levels, making your cleanse just that much more effective. Remember, a calm mind leads to a calm body, and a calm body is more receptive to the benefits of a cleanse. Approach your cleanse with clear intentions. Take the time to really enjoy and look inward... Why are you doing it? What do you hope to achieve? Keeping these in mind can help you stay motivated and focused throughout the process and knowing you can 100% do anything you put your mind to, truly.

Just as you eased into the cleanse, it's important to gradually reintroduce foods afterward. Begin with easily digestible foods and slowly add in other food groups, paying close attention to how your body responds. Check out our “Coming out of the Cleanse” Blog for more info. XX Sarah
