Updated: Jul 31, 2023

WHAT IS NAVRATRI? Navratri is a Hindu festival celebrated twice a year in honor of the goddess Durga. The celebrations take place once in October - November and again in the month of March - April. These times are directly connected to both the seasonal Equinoxes and the Solstices. Periods of deep change in the outer world. The celebration is traditionally a time to fast and pray in order to fully cleanse the mind and body, to rejuvenate the soul and get in touch with natures changes. Navratri is celebrated differently in many parts of the Hindu Indian culture, but all with the same objective ~ to change with the seasons. One of the main rituals of Navratri is when people fast and cleanse to give their puja to the goddess Shakti and goddess Durga. Puja is a ceremonial worship of making an offering to a god. Navratri, translates to nine nights. During this festival it takes place for typically only 9 nights and the people will even fast for all nine days. Typically the women will fast all day and men only in the mornings. Navratri are celebrated at the change of seasons, from dark to light, a time for the body to change gears and prepare for the coming season. The best time to give the body rest and reprogram for the next seasonal cycle. Are you ready to get the most out of your cleansing experience? If done in a healthy way, cleansing during this time can help you detox even further than if done at another time. Harnessing the power of this sacred time to get the most out of your cleanse and clear all that no longer serves is truly magnificent. You can truly feel the difference of cleansing during this time.
